In-N-Out Burger Could Be Coming to Alcoa – Here's What We Know
If you've been waiting for the famous Double-Double to make its way to East Tennessee, you may not have to wait much longer.
Plans are currently being discussed for what could become the first In-N-Out Burger in East Tennessee, with a proposed location in Alcoa, Tennessee. While the project is still working its way through the local approval process, the news has already created plenty of excitement throughout Blount County and the greater Knoxville area.
Where Will It Be Located?
According to documents presented to the Alcoa Municipal Regional Planning Commission, the proposed restaurant would be located along Tesla Boulevard in Alcoa, just minutes from McGhee Tyson Airport and conveniently accessible from Alcoa Highway. The planning item was recently deferred to allow additional review, meaning the project is still in its early stages.
Why Is Everyone So Excited?
If you've never experienced In-N-Out Burger, you're in for a treat.
Founded in California in 1948, In-N-Out has built a loyal following by keeping its menu simple and focusing on fresh ingredients. The restaurant is well known for its made-to-order burgers, hand-cut fries, milkshakes, and its famous "Animal Style" menu options that have developed an almost cult-like following across the country.
As the company continues expanding across Tennessee, East Tennesseans have been eagerly anticipating their chance to enjoy one of America's most talked-about burger chains without making a road trip to Middle Tennessee.
What This Means for Alcoa
A nationally recognized restaurant like In-N-Out brings more than great burgers.
Large retailers and restaurants often attract additional businesses, increase traffic to surrounding shopping areas, and create new employment opportunities. While no opening date has been announced, the proposal itself reflects the continued growth and investment taking place throughout Alcoa and Blount County.
East Tennessee Continues to Grow
This announcement is just another example of why so many people are choosing to call East Tennessee home.
Our area continues to attract new businesses, restaurants, employers, and residents who appreciate the quality of life, beautiful scenery, and convenient access to Knoxville, the Smoky Mountains, and surrounding communities.
Whether you're already a local or considering a move to the area, it's exciting to see continued investment that enhances everything East Tennessee has to offer.
Stay Tuned
As of now, the proposed Alcoa location has not received final approval and no official opening date has been announced. I'll continue following the project and share updates as they become available.
And when those doors finally open... don't be surprised if the drive-thru line stretches around the block!
