One of the many reasons I love calling East Tennessee home is the incredible sense of community. The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays because our towns come alive with patriotic celebrations, hometown parades, live music, family activities, and spectacular fireworks.

Whether you're a longtime resident, new to the area, or planning a holiday visit, here's your guide to some of the best Fourth of July celebrations throughout Knoxville and the surrounding East Tennessee communities.

📍 Location: World's Fair Park, Downtown Knoxville

If you're looking for the largest Fourth of July celebration in our area, downtown Knoxville is the place to be!

Enjoy:

  • Knoxville Symphony Orchestra performance
  • One of East Tennessee's largest fireworks displays

Stephanie's Tip: Arrive early, bring lawn chairs or a blanket, and plan to spend the evening enjoying everything downtown Knoxville has to offer.


🇺🇸 Farragut Independence Day Parade

📅 Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026

🕘 Time: 9:30 AM

📍 Location: Kingston Pike, Farragut

One of my favorite hometown traditions!

The parade features:

  • Patriotic floats
  • Marching bands
  • Classic cars
  • Community organizations
  • Plenty of hometown spirit

If you live in or around Farragut, this is a wonderful way to kick off your Fourth of July.


🎶 Townsend Independence Celebration

📅 Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026

🕡 Time: Evening Concert beginning at 6:30 PM

📍 Location: Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center

Celebrate Independence Day in the "Peaceful Side of the Smokies" with live patriotic music and a relaxing mountain atmosphere.

Perfect for families looking for a quieter celebration.


🔨 Museum of Appalachia

📅 Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026

📍 Location: Clinton

If you've never experienced the Museum of Appalachia's famous Anvil Shoot, add it to your bucket list!

Enjoy:

It's truly one of East Tennessee's most unique Independence Day traditions.


🎵 Patriot Festival – Pigeon Forge

📅 Dates: Friday, July 3 & Saturday, July 4, 2026

🕐 Gates Open: 1:00 PM

📍 Location: Patriot Park

This two-day celebration offers:

  • Free concerts
  • Family activities
  • Food vendors
  • Children's games
  • A spectacular fireworks finale

It's always one of the largest celebrations in Sevier County.


🎇 Fourth of July on Mabry's Hill

📅 Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026

🕔 Time: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM

📍 Location: Mabry-Hazen House
